I am considering joining audible.com and have problems with their site explaining exactly how it works, who it's good for, and how much it will cost me.

If anyone here is using audible.com, could you please clue me in?

What's the benefits?
What's the problems?
What's the cost?

Thanks.
Bob

The benefits are that you have access to material which can only be found at audable.com. In answer to the second and third questions since the answer is the same, you have to join it in order to use it. This is because you pay for the content you download.. It may be easier for you to understand why that is the answer to the third question than why it is the answer to the second, so I will explain. You see, it is the worst thing about audable.com that the material isn't free, because there is so much free legal content to download in terms of podcasts and other audio, that it isn't necessary to pay for any. I accept that some content you can only get by paying, but since there's plenty of free content, I don't believe it is necessary to pay for the small amount of content which isn't free. Also on cost, I think it varies depending on what you're downloading. Audable is a shop though, not a directory. If you're downloading shows which have episodes from there, you could end up paying more if there are constantly new episodes been published.
